We know Microsoft is BIG and so is Window 8. With Nokia switching from its Symbian OS to window 8 phone, Nokia has been trying its best to recover the era of smartphones. We have rumors of a Zune like smartphone named Zeal which is a middle priced device. Microsoft introduced the original Zune in 2006 at a time when competitor Apple was already on its fifth-generation iPod. Despite offering a handful of advantages over the iPod at the time such as an FM radio and a much larger screen that detailed album art. Microsoft was unable to put a sizable dent in Apple's already dominant music player market share and quietly announced its retirement last October. Some specs are
  • 1.0GHz dual-core processor
  • 512MB of RAM
  • 8GB of storage
  • microSD slot

With Motorola concentrating more on quality than quantity, it has come up with Razr series. With feature such as Corning Gorilla Glass displays, DuPont Kevlar fiber and a splash-guard coating on the outside, Android Ice Cream Sandwich with soon upgrade to Jelly Beans and access to Google Play Razr M, Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD are surely for good.

Motorola Razr M
The Motorola Razr M packs a Super Amoled Advanced 4.3-inch display with 40 percent more screen real estate and a 40 percent more powerful battery than the Apple iPhone 4S. It further features a wider keyboard, YouTube and Web with Chrome for Android, and it even spotlights an easy-to-use tutorial for interactive help with customization. The handset comes in “sleek black” or “stand out white,” and it will roll out soon to “several Asia Pacific countries.” The United States can get the Razr M now on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network for just $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.

Motorola Razr HD
The Motorola Razr HD boasts a 4.7-inch HD display with the same clarity as an HDTV and 85 percent better color saturation and 50 percent more pixels per inch than the Apple iPhone 4S. It also features a 1,780-mAh battery for up to 10 hours of movie- and TV-viewing or six hours of surfing the Web. Folks also get six hours of voice-guided turn-by-turn GPS navigation on a single charge. The handset comes in “sleek black” or “stand out white,” and it will roll out soon to Asia Pacific, Europe, North America and Latin America. The United States will get the Razr HD before the holidays on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. More information on pricing is not available at this time.

Droid Razr Maxx HD
The Droid Razr Maxx HD has the same features as the RazrHD, but it offers 32 hours of performance. The company brags that Maxx HD owners will get up to 10 hours of YouTube HD content or they can Web surf up to 8 hours. The handset will be available to U.S. customers in black before the holidays on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network. More details on availability and pricing will arrive later in the year.

With ongoing demands comes diversity and with diversity comes series. Similarly Sony has come up with Xperia Series.

Sony Xperia J
The Xperia J is the designated entry-level model out of the three, but we still find a lot of things to like about the phone. The J should be a good and affordable choice for budget-conscious folks who want to upgrade to an ICS phone. As an extra, an upgrade to Jelly Bean is already promised by Sony – and we know that they tend to keep their word.

Here are its main specs and features:
  • 4-inch display (480 x 854 pixels)
  • Single-core 1GHz processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 4GB onboard storage, microSD card slot
  • 5MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera
  • 1,750mAh battery
  • Android 4.0 ICS
  • Available in Black, Gold, Pink, and White

Sony Xperia V
It’s easy to classify the Xperia V as a mid-range phone, but it actually offers mostly similar specs to the bigger brother. It all boils down to your size preference. The Xperia V can pride itself on its dust and water-resistant body, as well as the fact that it is LTE capable from the get go. Just like the J and the T, we can expect to see Jelly Bean shortly after its launch.

Here are its main specs and features:
  • 4.3-inch display (720 x 1,280 pixels)

Sony Xperia T
The main star of the Xperia show is Sony’s Xperia T with its wholesome 4.6-inch HD display. Apparently, the Snapdragon S4 that is powering the Xperia T is an improved version of the processor, so we should be seeing some  impressive performance. The Xperia T is already being offered now in the UK, while American folks can expect to see the phone land on AT&T.

Here are its main specs and features:

It also compensates for hand movement while the photo is being taken. What's more, the screen also boasts what Nokia calls "Super Sensitive Touch," which promises to let you use it even when wearing gloves or mitts.

Reaching Tablets

Nexus 7 has been quite a hit with its hardware as well as software in low-middle ranged section and it was really hard to have a second thought of buying a tablet on this price range until came kindle fire, yes it had rocked tablet when it was launched and with its relaunch too it’s creating waves. With its 7 inch and 8.9 inch Kindle Fire HD and its reasonable pricing tablet industry is on fire right now. Kindle Fire HD tablets costs $199 (7-inch) and $299 (8.9-inch).
Here’s what you can expect from the Kindle Fire HD in terms of specs and features
  • 8.9-inch IPS touchscreen display with 1920 x 1200 resolution and 254 ppi (for the 8.9-inch version)
  • 7-inch IPS touchscreen display (for the 7-inch version)
  • laminated touch sensor that helps decrease glare by 25%
  • TI OMAP 4470 processor said to outperform the current Tegra 3 SoC
  • 16GB memory
  • Stereo speakers
  • Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/5GHz and MIMO support (the first tablet to incorporate it)
  • Bluetooth
  • HDMI out
  • HD front-facing camera with custom Skype app

Now with google’s Nexus 7 tablet around there are lots of comparison stuffs going on, considering hardware there are promises by kindle, it has its usual processor i.e. dual-core 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4430 but it runs 40% faster than it used to. About dimension New Kindle Fire is 190 x 120 x 11.4mm – 400 grams and Nexus 7 is 198.5 x 120 x 10.55mm – 340 grams. In terms of software surely Nexus 7 has buttered Jelly Beans as compared to ICS on kindle. Overall Kindle is good choice considering memory size it provides with same price range and those differences in specs are also not too heavy on kindle to be neglected so Kindle is also good on choice.

Quick Specs and features
  • 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4470 processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • The 7-inch IPS display (1280 x 800 pixels resolution)

With Nexus 7 tablet and now Kindle in the market it’s really hard for kobo with such price range.

Google Doodle has recently been around our life these days especially for googlers. We have enjoyed those animation and those Olympic stuff right. Now today what was doodled is 142nd Montessori’s Birthday. Serious thing, Montessori education is characterized by an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s natural psychological development, as well as technological advancements in society. Since both the unconventional google founders Larry & Sergey were Montessori kids we too celebrate what Montessori education gave us.
Education is part of life and life and education, so simple, keep educating.

We have been using a WiFi and we have been using it slow, frustratingly slow. But hey things are not unnoticed, researchers from the A*STAR Institute of Microelectronics (IME) has find out ways to boost WiFi speed upto 200 times. Along with performance, this tech will also reduce size of antennas.
The technology involves a compact high-performance silicon-based cavity-backed slot (CBS) antenna, which offers signal transmission strength of 30 times a conventional CBS antenna. “By filling the antenna cavity with polymer instead of air, we can achieve a flat surface for subsequent processing by standard technology that is amenable to mass production,” said Hu Sanming, a key researcher for the project.

In most part of the world when we are searching we are googling, but in China they don’t, their search is mostly dominated by local Baidu. In addition like Google Biadu has its own OS and apps. Now its widening reach through browser, The new Baidu Explorer browser arrives with a pretty bold claim: it’s supposedly 20% faster than any of its competitors, at least when it comes to JavaScript and HTML5. With its T5 engine, Baidu Explorer rated a score of 482 out of 500 for HTML5 compatibility. The next highest scoring browser, in terms of HTML5, was Chrome at 371.

We have huge dependency on apps when we are on mobile world. Along with apps we have games occupying most of our space. Archos now is unleashing a dedicated gamepad with advantage of Ice Cream Sandwich’s native support for physical gaming controls.
  • o   7 Inch capacitive screen,
  • o   Physical control buttons and analog sticks
  • o   Full access to Google PlayTM
  • o   1.5 GHz Dual-core processor combined with a Mali 400mp quad-core GPU
In addition, the GamePad includes automatic game recognition and mapping tools – patented technology to ensure control compatibility with every advanced Android game.

Google’s Nexus 7 tablet has been best in its class before and after its launch. With its pricing, features and the launch of Jelly Bean (4.1) was key to its popularity it deserved. Reminding of specs we get
  • o   7 inch
  • o   IPS TFT active matrix - LED backlight
  • o   Display Resolution 1280 x 800 (216 ppi)
  • o   Features Scratch-resistant surface
  • o   Corning Gorilla glass
  • o   Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • o   NVidia Tegra 3 1.3 GHz
  • o   10 hours
Now some clever developers over at XDA have pushed the device to its limits with the release of a new kernel (the core of the Android operating system) that is able to tweak the Nexus 7′s CPU and overclock it to 2.0GHz. Usually overclocking refers to increasing frequency of operation by increasing no of cycles per second. In real terms, there should be right balance between frequency, voltage and stability. The main reason that the lower speed CPU is used in the Nexus 7 is battery life. More megahertz means more power consumption which, in turn, means less battery life.

With most advanced feature and most impressive of the entire current android phone on the market, there has been rumor of S III brand increasing its reach to camera as Samsung Galaxy S Camera. The camera is supposedly built on the existing S3 design and features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen, Android ICS, and an impressive 16MP sensor. With manufacturers like Nikon bringing its own camera smartphone in market, its good for Samsung to widen itself.

Android is really growing fast; with its open source code it has been widely implemented. Beyond giant manufacturer it has been hugely successful for not well known brands too. Recently we came to know existence of Android Mini PC with Android ICS as OS. So what does a 75$ can spec out, here is the list
  • o   Android 4.0 ICS
  • o   1.5GHz AllWinner A10 CPU
  • o   512MB and 1GB RAM
  • o   USB port
  • o   mini-USB
  • o   mini-HDMI
75$ and you have Android PC on your pocket, unknown manufacturer has however always been questioned when it comes to durability.

When we consider smartphones and tablets, we generally have two Giant manufacturers, Nvidia and Qualcomm. Not a doubt both are competitors in every aspect. The Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon S4 chip is going to beat the ground with its great flexibility to tweak its designs paying a licensing fee to build its own ARM-compatible processors rather than licensing the ARM Cortex architecture directly, and it’s evident in newest processor architecture, called Krait.
Inside technology of Snapdragon, its four core work independently variable clock speeds. When a phone need little processing power, such as in sleep mode, it uses only one core but as task increases more cores get involved. So Snapdragon’s allows different cores perform different functions but only draw the power needed for the task. And obviously this will increase battery longevity which is what current need and trend is. So good luck Qualcomm.
